A Building Survey or as it is more commonly known, a ‘Structural Survey’ or ‘Level 3 Survey’ is a much more comprehensive type of report that is recommended for older properties, or properties of non-traditional construction. Properties that have been extensively altered and refurbished or properties that are in poor condition would also benefit from a Building Survey.
It is important to note the difference between a Building Survey and a Structural Engineers report. A Structural Engineers report is designed to highlight specific areas of repairs that are required to a property that may be suffering from structural movement such as subsidence.
A Structural Engineers report is usually required off the back of a Homebuyer Report or Building Survey.
